Rinker Design Associates, P.C. (RDA), formerly known as Rinker-Detwiler and Associates, P.C., was founded in 1982 by Jack E. Rinker, P.E. and Douglas M. Detwiler, L.S. RDA’s initial goal was to become prominent in the design and surveying field of residential land development throughout the Northern Virginia Community.

During a major recession in the economy in the late 1980s and early 1990s, RDA quickly adapted, reorganized, and built a strategic plan to diversify its business and focus on the implementation of cutting-edge technologies & training. The company’s growth, reputation and success have been based on providing our clients with exceptional service and unsurpassed quality.

Through the years as RDA has grown as a company in both scope and endeavors, it has expanded its business into the public sector. Currently, RDA generates over half of its revenue by providing unmatched professional consulting services to the majority of Northern Virginia Public Sector Clients. This solid and proven strategy has allowed RDA to provide outstanding consulting and design services on a variety of private, residential, industrial and commercial projects throughout the Northern Virginia area and beyond. RDA’s continuing commitment to excellence, technology, and customer service has produced additional qualifications and talents.

The company now provides services in Transportation Planning and Design, Traffic Engineering, Environmental Consulting Services, Surveying, Land Planning, Land Development Design and Forensic Engineering.
