  • SUDLEY MANOR DRIVE PPTA
    Prince William County, Virginia
Sudley Manor Drive was being prepared for Prince William County on an accelerated schedule in accordance with the Public-Private Transportation Act of 1995 (PPTA). The project provides a direct connection from Linton Hall Road to the Prince William Parkway and Sudley Road area as called for in the Prince William County Comprehensive Plan. In addition to the 10,000-foot extension of Sudley Manor Drive (a four-lane urban minor arterial designed to accommodate future expansion to six lanes), the project included Linton Hall Road Improvements from Devlin Road to Broad Run. The project required close coordination with the Virginia Department of Transportation to meet the accelerated schedule for plan design, utility relocation, right-of-way acquisition, and construction. This project is currently under construction.
  • LINTON HALL ROAD (ROUTE 619)
    VDOT, Prince William County, Virginia
Linton Hall Road, a roadway improvement spanning 5.8 miles, upgraded the roadway to six and four lanes with curb and gutter, raised median, sidewalk, bike and jogging trail. Connections to numerous intersecting streets and entrances were coordinated and major drainage structures designed. RDA has completed construction plans for the C-501 portion of the contract from Route 29 to Devlin Road and the project is under construction. The C-502 portion of this project from Devlin Road to Broad Run was prepared for construction with the Sudley Manor Drive PPTA Project, which is also currently under construction. Some key issues that surfaced during the various stages of this project included concerns for the impacts to a local cemetery site, drain field locations, and the displacement of four residential dwellings. The information we provided at the Public Hearing and our experience in dealing with concerned citizens proved to be crucial in h helping to ease some of the concerns. RDA presented a 3-dimensional rendering and a drive-thru simulation of the proposed roadway project and was able to show how impacts to these key areas were minimized.
  • STRINGFELLOW ROAD (ROUTE 645)
     Fairfax County, Virginia
The Stringfellow Road Widening project (located in Fairfax County) consists of widening the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided urban minor arterial facility with sidewalks and trails, curb and gutter and a raised median from Route 50 to Route 7735 (Fair Lakes Boulevard). VDOT has selected RDA to provide engineering services for this 1.55-mile project for right of way and construction plans including roadway design, hydraulic design, traffic engineering design (including traffic data collection and analysis), sign, signal, pavement marking, lighting plans and ITS, retaining wall design, permit sketches, coordination of utility design and supplemental survey data with roadway design and construction coordination and support. Extensive utility coordination is required due to the amount and type of utilities in the corridor.
